What is hydrogen water?
Ordinary drinking water with molecular hydrogen (H₂) gas dissolved in it. The water itself is unchanged; the dissolved hydrogen is what researchers study for its antioxidant properties.
Doesn't water already contain hydrogen?
Water (H₂O) contains hydrogen atoms bound to oxygen, but not free molecular hydrogen gas. Hydrogen water has H₂ gas dissolved into it, and that free H₂ is the part being studied.
Do I need the digital faucet?
Only for an under-sink install. The ECHO Ultimate Digital Faucet is sold separately and installs beside your main kitchen faucet. Choose the countertop install and you need nothing extra.
Can everyone in the house drink from it?
Yes. It produces hydrogen water on demand at up to 1.46 ppm, so it serves a household rather than one bottle at a time.
Is the alkaline water safe to drink?
Up to level 2 (about pH 9) it is commonly consumed; above that, use it for cleaning. Ask your physician before drinking alkaline water regularly. Never drink the acidic water.
What does upkeep involve?
One replacement filter a year for typical household use (1,056 gallons). An optional cleaning cartridge helps extend electrode life.
What does the warranty cover?
The machine itself, for 10 years. Filters and consumables are not covered.
